about

Stuck in Malibou, I had gotten a call from my daughter, "Lady Di" Shalimar who had found a copy of Butterscott's Slick Overproduced Commercial Pop Thing™ in the cut out bin at a local Safeway and read the liner notes, especially the part about the old Butterscott demos that were ruined and couldn't be used. While that is still true and those demos can't be recovered, she said, "but I have this live Butterscott thing from 2000. It's been collecting dust. You think I can get $5 for it on eBay?"

On that old tape were nearly all the songs they had been working on at the time, including several songs that we thought were lost forever.

So after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I immediately went to the fine people at Buttersville USA to scrape together some artwork and such so we can make some money to pay off the band's mountain of cintractual obligations. These Butterscott guys eat a lot of Hot Pockets with Sour Cream Pringles and with a case of Yoohoo every week, let me tell you me lads and lasses... It all adds up.

So while the Covid Apocalypse™ has sidelined our stalwart band once again, we have this HOLY GRAIL of Butterscott wholesome goodness, with songs long thought lost and forgotten by everyone in the band.

This is one of the many live performances you will find in the Brand New Butterscott Live Box, "No Sleep Till IHOP" which will be coming and will feature more bizarre poop nuggets like this.

Tell your friends. It is here.

The followup to Live At Lunch (also on the NSTI live set).....

Please enjoy....

Some notes for DEAD BY DESSERT from the members of Butterscott:

"Once upon a time, there was darkness.
you couldn't see too well.
especially in shades.

but i digress."

"once upon a time, there was butterscott. there were cassettes. many, many cassettes. too many cassettes to list here. hoo boy. once the cassettes started to circulate, by underwhelming public demand, there was a proper butterscott band.

we're talking some 20-odd years ago here. at that time, butterscott consisted of jonathan "butter" scott (vocals, carbs), buzz syndrome (bass, vocals, sonic chocobliss), stevie crater (guitar, vocals, teen appeal) & mett brilano (drums, leafy greens). got that? goooood!

now to the recording you're no doubt groovin' to in the privacy of your own home as you read this silly screed ---- DEAD BY DESSERT consists of a wild, wacky, wooly radio session from july 2000 featuring the 4 misfits already mentioned, playin & singin their dear, sweet hearts out. just for you."

"that's right, kids."

"doin a set list truly gabberflasting in it's mining of now laughably obscure nuggets as "w.o.w", "syd the hippie squid", "infinity forever" & a mindmelting monkees mashup of "admiral mike" & "she" which we'll refer to as "admiral she."

got that?

gooooood!"

"so there you go. DEAD BY DESSERT. the release of which deserves its own national holiday ---- DEAD BY DESSERT DAY! ha! just listen to this li'l gig & marvel yer li'l socks off. go on, it's good for you.

peace & onions,"
